Our Traditions

We welcome the beginning of the school year with a Wine & Cheese Social for MICH parents and staff.

In September we celebrate International Day of Peace.

Every Fall the Upper Elementary students go on a three-day class trip to Echo Hill Outdoor School. The purpose of this trip is to help students learn more about the environment and themselves.

In October, MICH celebrates Halloween with Ghosts of the Past. Elementary students select a historical figure to research and report on to the entire school. The PTO holds a “spooktacular” event on campus where all students can wear their costumes.

December is also the time for the PTO’s Secret Shop. This fun-filled event allows children the opportunity to shop in “secret” for holiday gifts for their families while parents mingle and enjoy delicious goodies at the bake sale.

Every year Primary and Elementary students present a Musical Performance at Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts.

In spring the 3rd year elementary students spend a day at Echo Hill increasing their environmental knowledge of the Bay.

May Day/Earth Day is celebrated with international songs and dances.

Grandparents & Special Friends are welcome them to visit the classroom during the school year.

The end of the school year brings

  • A Day Hike for 5th year elementary students
  • Overnight hiking and camping trip for the 6th year elementary students
  • Field Day for Elementary students
  • Our Volunteer Appreciation Coffee
  • Graduation of our 6th grade elementary students
