Art

Art is an important part of the classroom’s prepared environment. Each Directress incorporates a variety of artistic media into their lessons to encourage the students’ aesthetic senses.

Art is integrated into the curriculum at all levels. It is encouraged as a creative outlet and as a learning tool to explore the world, nature and other cultures. In addition to an exposure to “artistic elements,” individual classes study particular artists, their importance, and signature styles.

Student art is displayed in the classrooms and in the hallways so that it can be enjoyed by everyone.

In the primary program, art is used as a vehicle for fine motor development and self-expression.

In the elementary program, art is used to enhance reports, understand cultures, and for continued self-expression including scenery, costumes and make-up for plays
